Different configurations of transferred atmospheric pressure plasma jet and their application to polymer treatment

The employment of atmospheric pressure plasma jets (APPJs) in a large sort applications is limited by the adversities related to size treated area and difficulty reach target. use devices that employ long tubes their structure has contributed significantly overcome these challenges. In this work, two different systems employing jet transfer technique are compared. main difference between how plastic tube was assembled. first one uses copper wire placed inside tube. other device metallic mesh installed concentric arrangement coaxial tubes. As result, APPJ exhibit properties, with assembly being more powerful, also presenting higher values for electrical current rotational temperature when compared mounting. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) demonstrates both configurations were capable inserting O-containing functional groups on polypropylene (PP) surface. However, transferred able add PP results from XPS analysis corroborated water contact angle measurements (WCA), lower WCA obtained surface presented amounts groups. Furthermore, suggest configuration appropriate material treatments, while tends present values, suitable biological applications.
